DOSAAF was the name of a paramilitary society of the Soviet Union, Voluntary Society of Assistance to the Army, the Air Force and the Navy. The goal of the society was preparation of reserves for armed forces. It was a powerful militarized organization, with its own aerodromes, radio clubs, parachute towers and firing ranges.
